Ingredients
Scale
Ingredients
- 6 cups Lucky Charms cereal
- 1 bag (10 ounces) mini marshmallows
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
- Pinch of salt (optional)
Instructions
- Melt the butter and marshmallows: In a large saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Once melted, add the mini marshmallows and stir continuously until they are completely melted and the mixture is smooth.
- Add flavorings: Remove the saucepan from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt if using to enhance the flavor.
- Combine with cereal: Immediately add the Lucky Charms cereal to the marshmallow mixture. Gently stir to coat the cereal evenly without crushing the pieces.
- Press into pan: Quickly transfer the mixture into a greased 9×13-inch pan. Using a greased spatula or wax paper, gently press the mixture evenly into the pan— avoid pressing too hard to keep the treats light and chewy.
- Cool and cut: Let the mixture cool at room temperature for about 1 hour until set. Once cooled, cut into 16 squares and serve.
Notes
- For extra fun, top the treats with a few extra marshmallow bits before the mixture fully sets.
- Store the treats in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days to maintain freshness.
